Product Introduction
The Beam splitter penta prism consist of a precision penta prism carefully cemented together with a wedge to minimize wavefront distortion and beam skewing. The cemented surface of the wedge is coated with a multilayer beam splitter coating tuned to the application. The three outside surfaces of the prism are anti-reflection (AR) coated with “V” type or broadband coatings to minimize surface reflection losses over the specific wavelength range.

Beam splitter penta prism are available in unpolarized, non-polarizing and polarizing designs. The functional features of these designs are similar to the respective cube polarizers.
Beam Splitter Penta Prism are constructed by cementing a precision penta prism and a wedge prism together, and applying an appropriate interference coating to one of the traditionally reflective surfaces. Since slight movements of a penta prism do not affect the true right angle at which light rays are reflected, the deviation between the transmitted and reflected light rays is highly controllable and will not vary by more than 10 arcsec.
Note: Outgoing beams are partially polarized.

By adding a wedge and with partial reflective coating on first reflective surface, Penta Prism can be used as Beam splitter Penta Prism. It is often used in Plumb Level, Surveying, Alignment, Rangefinding and Optical Tooling.

We supply Beam splitter Penta Prism with standard Transmission/reflection (T/R) ratio is available upon request.
Note for Beam splitter Penta Prism:
(1). Besides N-BK7 glass, other optical glass is available for custom-made Penta Prisms.
(2). Typical dimension Axh is from 2.5x2.5-100.0x100.0 mm.
(3). Typical deviation tolerance is 1 minute, better precision such as 30 sec, 10 sec, 5 sec, 
        3sec, 1sec, 0.5sec is available.
(4). Typical reflection is >90% by Al coating, other metal coating such as Ag, Cu, or High Reflection 
      Dielectric Coating is available.
(5). Typical Beamsplitter Ratio Transmission/Reflection is 20/80±5 or 50/50±5, other Ratio is available.
(6). Besides uncoating, Anti-Reflective(AR) coating is available upon request.
